Addressing the recent imposition of a 24-hour curfew in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, the governor cited the infiltration of protests by criminals. “The lawful protests have been infiltrated by criminals who were waiting for an opportunity to loot shops, attack and rob innocent citizens of their hard-earned belongings,” he noted, adding that the curfew aimed to “prevent further acts of criminality.”
Governor Mutfwang concluded by appealing for continued patience and unity among Plateau citizens. “I assure you I have heard you clearly, and we are in this together. Let us remain united in our efforts to build a prosperous and secure state.”
The governor also announced plans for dialogue with youth leaders to address their concerns, stating, “As soon as the protests are over, we shall meet with the leaders of the youth groups across the state for further dialogue.”
