The assailants shot and killed the retired Brigadier-General monarch and abducted his wife.

The incident occurred around 8 pm, with the gunmen swiftly targeting the palace upon their arrival, causing chaos in the area.

Residents and subjects of the monarch were shocked and fearful following the tragic event.

As of late Thursday, the whereabouts of the abducted wife remained unknown, and arrangements were being made to transfer the deceased monarch’s body to the morgue.

The Kwara State Police Command had not yet confirmed or denied the incident, and efforts to reach the Command’s Public Relations Officer were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
