Multinational Joint Task Force Rescues Cameroonian Official, Intercepts Boko Haram Logistics Supplier

Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have successfully rescued Mrs. Gambo Genevieve, Head of Service at the Department of Physical Education in Logone and Chari, Cameroon, and arrested a key logistics supplier for Boko Haram terrorists in separate operations in the Lake Chad region.

In a swift response to a distress call from locals in the villages of Gangawa and Kangaleri, Gogolom Division, troops deployed in Mora engaged fleeing terrorists, who abandoned their captives. Among the six rescued victims was Mrs. Gambo Genevieve, who, along with the others, is currently undergoing medical evaluation.

In another operation, MNJTF forces from Sector 3 in Monguno intercepted Babagana Zaninu, a Boko Haram logistics supplier, in Gubio. Zaninu was found transporting illicit drugs and essential supplies, including soft drinks, sugar, and flour, in a Toyota pickup intended for delivery to Boko Haram fighters in Gazabure Village.

Zaninu confessed that the supplies were purchased in Gubio market to support Boko Haram fighters, further highlighting the MNJTF’s success in disrupting key supply lines used by terrorists. 

“These operations demonstrate our unwavering commitment to neutralizing terrorist threats and cutting off their critical supplies in the Lake Chad region,” Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer HQ MNJTF N’djamena, Chad stated.
