The Golden Arrows of Nigeria on Friday, defeated Cameroon 33-25 to win the President’s Cup and finished ninth at the Africa Men’s Handball Nations Cup in Egypt.

Nigeria led by Coach Rafiu Salami started the match well and won the first half 15-12 despite a bit of a brick wall by Cameroon.

The second half was much more a better half with the Golden Arrows playing probably their best game in the nations cup as the players such as Faruk Yusuf, Hakeem Salami, Daniel Bello as well Obinna Anih took their chances to score important goals that earned Nigeria a rewarding 33-25 victory over Cameroon.

Right back Farouk Yusuf was rightly named the most valuable player of the match as Nigeria deservedly won the President’s Trophy.

Nigeria finished as the 9th best team in the nations cup. They played six matches; winning four and losing two, a better placement than last edition where they finished 10th in the competition.
