Nigeria Humbles Liberia In World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria’s Flamingos humbled their host Liberia on Sunday at the Sam Kanyon Stadium in Monrovia with an emphatic 1-4 win.

Flamingos proved to be the better side right from the blast of the whistle and their efforts paid off quickly with 3 goals in the first half through Shakirat Moshood, Peace Effiong and Prolific striker Harmony Chidi who scored her 11th goal of the campaign.

Liberia improved in their performance in the second half but it was Nigeria who scored again in the 74th minute through Ifitezue.

Yasah Gwaikolo scored Liberia’s consolatory goal in the 87th minute but it wasn’t enough to cause an upset.

The second leg is slated for MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
