Nigerian Army Troops Neutralize 4 Terrorists, Thwart Kidnap Attempt on School Headmaster in Plateau

On Friday, March 15, 2024, Nigerian Army troops executed successful operations, eliminating four terrorists in ambush and raid missions across Kaduna and Katsina States. Additionally, they thwarted a kidnap attempt targeting the Headmaster of a primary school in Plateau State.

According to a statement issued by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, on March 16, 2024, troops acted on credible intelligence indicating the use of the Gwamtu – Duduwa- Kujeni route in Kajuru Local Government of Kaduna State for logistical support to terrorists in Rijana forest. In a well-executed ambush, two terrorists were neutralized, and the troops recovered significant weaponry, including AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and motorcycles.

Similarly, troops raided a terrorist hideout at Dutsen Kura in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists after an intense firefight. Various weapons and equipment were seized from the hideout, underscoring the success of the operation.

In Plateau State, troops swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a kidnap attempt on Mr. Solomon Zakka, the Headmaster of Pilot Primary School, Daffo. The vigilant soldiers engaged the kidnappers in a firefight, rescuing Mr. Zakka unharmed and thwarting the abduction.

The Nigerian Army expressed gratitude for the public’s support and cooperation and called on all well-meaning Nigerians to continue collaborating with the military in ongoing operations across the country, emphasizing the collective effort needed to maintain peace and security.
