The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State branch, has honoured the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, with a meritorious award for her leadership in promoting healthy living and her consistent advocacy for public health.

The award was presented during the 2025 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the association held in Awka, where key health stakeholders gathered to discuss and celebrate achievements in the medical field.

Speaking during the award presentation, Dr Princeston Okam, Chairman of the NMA Anambra chapter, praised Dr Soludo for her unwavering dedication to the health sector.

“Dr Nonye Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, has consistently used her voice and position to protect child rights, promote infant and maternal health, and support women’s empowerment,” Okam stated.

“Through her widely followed platforms, she is championing wellness, nutrition and transformative social insights, reaching thousands of people with practical solutions. She is worthy of the award of recognition,” he added.

The award was received on behalf of the governor’s wife by the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, who was also honoured at the event.

Dr Obidike noted that the recognition would further inspire the First Lady in her mission to improve lives through her health crusade.

“Such honour can only encourage the governor’s wife to keep using her platform to touch more lives,” Obidike said, while commending the NMA for acknowledging her contributions.
