Ojokoro LCDA Initiates Construction of New NSCDC Divisional Office

Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has officially commenced the construction of a new divisional office for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ajegunle-Ilo, Lagos. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Friday, 16th August 2024, and was attended by various council officials and representatives from the Lagos State Command of the NSCDC.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Mr. Hammed Idowu Daniel (HID) Tijani, represented by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Oladipupo Coker, emphasized the importance of the new office. He stated, “The relocation of the NSCDC divisional office is aimed at empowering the Corps to boost productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in fulfilling its statutory mandate of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.”

The Council Manager, Mr. Adeyemi Adegbola, also expressed his support, noting, “The Council, under the leadership of Tijani and his progressive team, prioritizes the security of lives and property. This new development reflects our commitment to enhancing the operations of security agencies, including the NSCDC, within the LCDA.”

Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, represented by Deputy Commandant Jimoh Sulaiman, praised the initiative, saying, “This gesture by the LCDA will enable us to pursue the safety and security of Ojokoro and the entire state more robustly. To whom much is given, much is expected.”

The new divisional office, which will include offices, a store, an investigation room, and other essential facilities, is expected to be completed within eight weeks, according to Council Engineer Architect Makinde Sunday.

Superintendent of Corps Victor Adekunle Oluokun, the Divisional Officer for Ojokoro LCDA, expressed his gratitude, stating, “This unprecedented gesture has unequivocally boosted the morale of my team and me. We are committed to escalating our efforts in de-escalating criminality in the environment, ensuring the safety of the good people of Ojokoro.”
