The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association (PETROAN) has inaugurated its Lagos State Executive Council, with a charge to uphold transparency and efficiency in petroleum distribution across the state.

The event, which took place in Lagos, was attended by PETROAN members from across Nigeria and key players in the petroleum industry.

Speaking at the inauguration, PETROAN National President, Dr. Billy Sotubo Gillis-Harry, urged the newly elected executives to remain committed to the association’s core mandate of ensuring seamless fuel distribution while eliminating adulteration, illegal meter tampering, hoarding, and unfair victimization of retail outlet owners. “Your duty is not just to members but to the entire nation. We must work to eradicate sharp practices and ensure Nigerians get value for their money,” Dr. Gillis-Harry stated.

He congratulated Comrade Otunba Akinola Ogunyolemi, who emerged as Lagos State Chairman in a keenly contested election. Other elected officers include Chief Kayode Owodiye (Vice Chairman), Ehimen Akhere Joseph (Secretary), Mrs. Jane Okoh (PRO), Prince Bakare Adeyinka (Treasurer), and Mr. Olugbenga Alex (State Technical Adviser).

The National President directed the new leadership to seek an audience with Lagos State Governor to formally introduce PETROAN’s new state leadership, as has been done in other states.

In his inaugural speech, Comrade Ogunyolemi pledged to prioritize the welfare and business interests of PETROAN members in Lagos. “We will work tirelessly to protect the interests of our members and ensure a fair and thriving business environment for all,” he affirmed.

The newly inaugurated executives are expected to begin engagements with relevant stakeholders to tackle industry challenges and improve fuel retail operations in the state.
