Following a successful campaign at the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL), the Rivers Hoopers coaching duo, Ogoh Odaudu and Abdulrahman Mohamed, have been chosen to participate in the NBA Summer League. This opportunity arises from the NBA-BAL partnership, which aims to develop basketball in Africa.

Odaudu, the head coach, and Mohamed, his assistant, led the Rivers Hoopers to a remarkable third-place finish at the 2024 BAL. As part of the NBA Summer League, Odaudu will join the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Mohamed will be with the Utah Jazz.

This selection is part of the BAL’s initiative to enhance the game, improve on-court play, and promote basketball growth in Africa.

The NBA Summer League, starting today in Las Vegas, provides a platform for coaches to learn from top NBA professionals, share knowledge, and build connections.

This opportunity will undoubtedly enhance the coaching skills of Odaudu and Mohamed, enabling them to make a more significant impact on African basketball.
