Nigeria’s U18 Women’s Handball Team Prepares for IHF World Cup in China

Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola has invited 18 players to prepare for the IHF Women’s U18 World Cup in Chuzhou, China, scheduled for August 14-25, 2024. 

This marks Nigeria’s debut in the World Cup after qualifying at the Africa Women’s U18 Handball Nations Cup in Tunisia.

Key returnees include captains Esther Mathew and Taiwo Babatunde, along with the Munira sisters from Rima Queens and Oparaugo Amarachi from Imo Grasshoppers. 

Coach Agboola praised the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) and expressed the team’s determination to excel, starting preparations on July 14, 2024, in Benin City, Edo State.
