Sweet victory for Nigeria as they zoom into Afcon Semi Finals

1 Mins read

It was a sweet victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they became the first team to make it to the Semifinals of the ongoing Afcon.

Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman’s 41st minute strike set the pace for the three time champions.

In the second half the Angolans toiled all night for an equalizer but the defense was solid. Osimhen then scored what could have been his second goal of the tournament in the 75th minute but was chalked off by VAR.

With this result, Nigeria have now made 16 semi finals in their 19 appearances at the tournament.

Nigeria now awaits the winner in the quarter final clash between Cape Verde and South Africa, with the Semi final game billed for Wednesday.
