The Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry is responsible for coordinating, developing, and promoting economic activities in Taraba State.

George made the remarks while presenting the Awards of Excellence to the VGN, Taraba State Command, at the Commandant’s office in Jalingo on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. George explained that the purpose of the awards was to acknowledge the VGN’s commitment to securing communities that have been plagued by kidnappers and bandits, encouraging them to continue their valuable work. He noted that the VGN deserved the awards for their support of security agencies in maintaining peace throughout the state.

He highlighted that since Governor Agbu Kefas took office, the state has become safer, with a significant decrease in kidnapping and other criminal activities. He added that farmers and traders can now conduct their business without fear of crime.

In response, State VGN Commander Bello Arabi, represented by the D.C. Operations, Munir Bello Abubakar, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner and his ministry for the recognition. Arabi mentioned that the awards serve as both an acknowledgement of their efforts and an encouragement for VGN members to continue their work for the community.

He reaffirmed their commitment to assisting other security agencies in promoting safety and peace across the state, emphasizing that peace is essential for the country’s development.
