Further information gathered at the scene revealed that repairs were on ongoing in the building before a segment of the building collapsed and the landlord was trapped while the bricklayers escaped unscathed, but he was retrieved by neighbors and taken to general hospital.

The attention of LABSCA and Lagos State Material Testing Laboratory will be needed to conduct integrity and stability test on the other part of the building.
