Wanted Ex-Beauty Queen Surrenders to NDLEA After Eight Months in Hiding

A former beauty queen, Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas, also known as Ms. Queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, has turned herself in to the Lagos Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) after evading capture for eight months. Ms. Aderinoye, who held the title of Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016 and is the founder of Queen Christmas Foundation, was declared wanted by the NDLEA in January 2024 following a raid on her Lekki residence.

During the January raid, NDLEA operatives, acting on credible intelligence, searched her apartment at Oral Estate, Lekki, where they discovered 606 grams of Canadian Loud, a synthetic cannabis strain. Also recovered were an electronic weighing scale, large quantities of drug-packing plastics, a black RAV 4 SUV, and other items.

Ms. Aderinoye, who had been hiding in Akure, Ondo State, since her escape, surrendered to the NDLEA on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

In related developments, NDLEA operatives seized a total of 1,938 kilograms of cannabis in Lagos. Mustapha Ibrahim was arrested on Monday, August 26, along Orchid Road, Ajah, with 1,122 kilograms of the substance. An additional 816 kilograms, belonging to a suspect still at large, were recovered from the same location.
