With the November 16 gubernatorial election in Ondo State fast approaching, the Ebira community in Ondo has officially thrown its support behind Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. The endorsement was led by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, who joined Ebira indigenes in a gathering in Owo on Saturday to express their collective commitment to Aiyedatiwa’s re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) banner.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Ododo voiced the Ebira community’s support, highlighting Aiyedatiwa’s role in continuing the legacy of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. “We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, have resolved to support and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming election in this state,” Ododo declared. “Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ebira community stands with you; we are here in solidarity because we believe in continuity. You have been tested and trusted, and that is why we are 100 percent behind you.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude for the endorsement, emphasizing his commitment to inclusiveness and unity in Ondo State. He also praised President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering support for Ondo’s development. “President Tinubu has continuously shown interest in our state’s progress. Since his assumption of office, he has never wavered in his support for us,” Aiyedatiwa remarked.
Reflecting on the APC primary election in Ondo State, chaired by Governor Ododo, Aiyedatiwa shared his confidence in a transparent electoral process. “The Ebira community’s solidarity means a lot to us, and we are committed to including all communities in our administration,” he added.
Dr. Olayide Adelami, the deputy governor of Ondo State and host of the rally, applauded Governor Ododo for his dedication to the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa’s campaign. “Today, you have shown commitment to the economic development of your people both at home and away from home. This is the quality of a good leader, and our administration shall not relent in recognizing and including non-indigenes in decision-making in this state,” Adelami stated.
