African Badminton Champion Receives Cash and Hilux Vehicle from Gov Kefas

The former African Badminton Champion Ephraimu Jinkam on Tuesday received ten million naira and a Hilux from Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.

The Taraba state Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, praised Ephraimu Jinkam for the achievements and urged the youths of Taraba to be determined to tap from the wealth of human and Natural Resources of the state.

Speaking during the occasion at the TY Danjuma House Jalingo, the Governor applauded the exploits of Jinkam in the game of badminton. Furthermore, Kefas advised youths in Taraba State to remain focused because of the abundant resources that abound in the state.

In response, the African Badminton Champion Ephraimu Jinkam thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for sponsoring him to Cairo, Egypt, to obtain a coaching certificate in badminton and administration which now certifies him as a world badminton coach. He pledged to tour the sixteen local government areas of the state to fish out talents.

Earlier in her speech, The Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Mrs. Indo Makson, appreciated the Coaching Programme in Egypt as a significant advancement for the Taraba Sports sector. The Former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, was also recognized as the Badminton African Champion for the significant impact he had in his sports career.
