In a heartfelt tribute, the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taureeq Abiodun Lagbaja. Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, widely respected for his bravery, strategic acumen, and steadfast dedication to national service, passed away earlier this week. The AANI National President, Ambassador EO Okafor, conveyed the association’s condolences to the entire nation, honoring Lagbaja as a military leader who embodied courage, loyalty, and patriotism.

“Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja was more than just a military leader; he was a symbol of courage, loyalty, and national unity,” said Okafor. “His selfless dedication to duty was evident in his numerous contributions to the Nigerian Army and the nation. He was a true patriot who consistently put the needs of his country above his own.”

Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s legacy extends beyond his service in the armed forces; he was a figure known for his humility, approachability, and profound commitment to the soldiers under his command. As Okafor noted, “He inspired those around him with his leadership qualities and his ability to motivate and empower his troops. His strategic expertise was instrumental in numerous military operations, and he consistently displayed exceptional courage and resilience.”

“We mourn the loss of this great leader and send our deepest condolences to the President and Commander-in-Chief, his family, friends, and colleagues,” Usman stated. “Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s legacy of service and sacrifice will continue to inspire future generations.”

AANI, representing alumni of Nigeria’s prestigious National Institute, stands united with the nation as it bids farewell to one of its most devoted sons. Lt. Gen.
