Over three hundred ward chairmen and elected local government councillors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have declared their support for Senator Iyiola Omisore to emerge as the party’s governorship candidate in next year’s election.

The endorsement came during a meeting at Omisore’s campaign office in Osogbo, where the party stakeholders argued that while other aspirants in the race are qualified, Omisore’s “wealth of experience in politics and governance” makes him the best choice to lead the party to victory.

Speaking at the gathering, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, described Omisore as “a reliable politician with the capacity to deliver victory for the APC.” He urged ward chairmen across the state to intensify their grassroots mobilisation to support his candidature.

Also lending his voice, former Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunsho Bamisayemi, assured the ward executives that Omisore “holds them in high esteem” and would prioritise their welfare and Osun State’s development if elected governor.

The ward leaders, in turn, pledged to take Omisore’s “Agenda” to the grassroots, while urging him to focus on community empowerment when he assumes office.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Senator Omisore expressed gratitude for the collective support, describing the endorsement as “a clear signal of APC’s readiness for victory at the polls.”“I have consulted stakeholders across all nine federal constituencies in the state to share my vision,” Omisore said.

“I urge our ward executives and councillors to continue spreading our message, fostering unity, and rallying support not only for my candidature but also for President Bola Tinubu.”

The meeting follows an earlier consultation on Monday, September 8, where Omisore also met with local government party chairmen and council chairmen across the state.-
