Gassol, Taraba State – His Royal Highness, Alhaji Idi Chiroma, the Emir of Gassol, has commended Muslims who observed the 2025 Ramadan fast, describing their devotion as the pinnacle of religious sacrifice.
Speaking on Sunday during an Eid-el-Fitr gathering in Gassol Local Government Area, Chiroma noted that this year’s fast took place under severe weather conditions, yet the faithful persevered in their spiritual obligations.
“The Ramadan fast came during a harsh climatic period, but our people endured for the sake of religious fulfillment. This demonstrates the strength of their faith and commitment,” he stated.
The Emir urged his subjects to remain steadfast in righteousness and not revert to old habits that could erode the spiritual rewards of Ramadan.
“Those who go back to their old ways may miss out on the blessings that come with this sacred period,” he cautioned.
Chiroma further emphasized the importance of maintaining the fear of God, assuring that divine rewards await those who uphold piety.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Taraba State Government, Chiroma expressed gratitude to Governor Agbu Kefas for his commitment to ensuring security in the region.
He also commended his people for their cooperation with security agencies in tackling kidnapping and banditry.
“We have made significant progress in fighting insecurity. I thank my people for their resilience and collaboration with security forces to make our communities safer,” he said.
As part of his Eid message, the Emir appealed to residents of Gassol to continue living in peace and to reconcile past grievances.
“I plead with those who have had misunderstandings in the past to let go of bitterness. Let us embrace love and peace among ourselves,” he urged.
Reports indicate that the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations were observed peacefully across all sixteen local government areas of Taraba State, including Gassol.
