With just weeks to go, excitement is building for Ibadan Startup Fest 2024, which aims to ignite the spark of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth that Africa needs to thrive in the global tech arena.

The Ibadan Startup Fest (ISF), Africa’s premier gathering of tech innovators, investors, regulators, and ecosystem builders, is set for its third edition, scheduled to take place from November 28-30, 2024, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The highly anticipated event aims to catalyze growth, drive innovation, and position Africa as a global leader in technology and entrepreneurship.

Since its inception, Ibadan Startup Fest has emerged as a key platform for fostering collaboration and sharing best practices among key players in Africa’s tech ecosystem. The event will feature an extensive range of activities, including interactive workshops, exclusive networking sessions, panel discussions, and masterclasses designed to equip attendees with practical knowledge and strategies for success.

David Adeleke, the convener of ISF, shared his vision for the event, stating, “Ibadan Startup Fest is more than just a conference – it’s a platform for real change. We are creating an environment where innovators, investors, and policymakers can come together to explore ideas that will shape the future of African startups. Our mission is to empower tech leaders and entrepreneurs, foster sustainable development, and accelerate economic growth across the continent.”

The 2024 edition will build on the success of previous years, which attracted prominent figures in the tech industry, such as Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Founder of Future Africa; Seun Fakorede, Executive Advisor to the Oyo State Governor; and Temidayo Oniosun, Managing Director of Space in Africa. With a growing list of high-profile speakers and a diverse range of activities, ISF 2024 is set to deliver an unparalleled experience for attendees.

Backed by the Oyo State Government, the event highlights the region’s commitment to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship. Adebayo Akande, Senior Special Adviser on ICT to the Oyo State Government, has emphasized the importance of initiatives like ISF in driving the local economy and creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

Adeleke further stressed the importance of collaboration, saying, “Africa’s potential in tech is immense, but we need collective efforts to unlock it. ISF is about bringing together the brightest minds to spark ideas, form partnerships, and ultimately shape a tech-driven future for Africa. This is more than just a conference – it’s a launchpad for transformational change.”

The event promises to deliver actionable insights, real-world strategies, and networking opportunities that will help participants navigate the challenges and opportunities within the African tech landscape. Whether through hands-on masterclasses or expert-led panels, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and innovations in the tech world.
