Liverpool booked their place in the final of the English football league cup (EFL) after playing out a 1-1 draw to set up a final with Chelsea just for the third time in the competition’s history.
The Reds who took a 2-1 aggregate scoreline to craven cottage, got themselves ahead courtesy a Luiz Dias strike in the 11th, before Issa Diop scored an equalizer in the 77th minutes for Fulham, but it wasn’t enough to take the home side through as they were knocked out 3-2 on aggregate.
Chelsea await Jurgen Klopp boys after a 6-1 thrashing of Middlesbrough in the Semi final.
The last time both teams met in the final of the EFL cup was in the 2021/22 season where Liverpool won 6-5 via Penalties.
The winner of this edition will qualify for the play-off round of the 2024–25 UEFA Conference League.
Wembley will host the final on the 25th of February 2024.
