Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have apprehended a high-profile logistics courier for Boko Haram, identified as Mr. Garba Buda, in Guzamala, Borno State. The 30-year-old suspect has long been on the MNJTF’s wanted list due to his crucial role in supplying logistics to the terrorist group.
Buda was captured during a targeted operation in Monguno town after extensive human intelligence and surveillance efforts. His arrest is seen as a major setback for Boko Haram operations in the Lake Chad region, as he was instrumental in facilitating the movement of supplies between Monguno and the Southern Tumbus area.

Authorities recovered several items from Buda that are believed to be linked to his activities, including a lighter, pocket mirror, comb, cap, and wristwatch. He is currently in custody and undergoing profiling investigations.
In a related operation, MNJTF troops also conducted a raid on a Boko Haram/ISWAP enclave in the Kukawa Local Government Area, disrupting terrorist activities in the region. The terrorists fled the scene upon the troops’ arrival, leaving behind their logistics, which were subsequently destroyed.
These operations mark a significant advancement in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad area, underscoring the commitment of security forces to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure the safety of local communities.
