Ondo Governor Dismisses Forestry Aide Over Bribery Allegations, Orders Probe

Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed the Special Assistant on Forestry for the Central Senatorial District, Mr. Adeboye Taofiq Ewenla, from office with immediate effect.

The dismissal follows allegations of bribery and intimidation made against Mr. Ewenla by timber merchants in the state.

Governor Aiyedatiwa has also ordered a probe into the activities of officials responsible for managing forest reserves in Ondo State.

A replacement for Mr. Ewenla will be announced shortly. The Governor also called on all political appointees to adhere strictly to the law and the rules governing their conduct.
