In a campaign event held at the Irele Multipurpose Hall and Civic Centre, Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, promised to build on his administration’s accomplishments if re-elected in the upcoming November election. Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s commitment to security and infrastructure development, assuring voters of his dedication to their welfare.

“We have prioritized the security of lives and property because security is crucial for good governance and the development of our state,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated, addressing a gathering of community leaders.

During his speech, the Governor pledged to uphold an inclusive government. He reassured the people of Irele of his respect for traditional institutions, emphasizing that the selection of a new king for the community would be left entirely to the kingmakers. “Whoever the kingmakers choose is the one who will be king,” he affirmed, urging them to “follow due process for a smooth selection process.”

Representing the traditional rulers, the Odogbo of Omi, Oba Olorunsola Akinyelure, thanked the Governor for his commitment to the welfare of traditional institutions. “You have empowered us to shoulder our responsibilities. You have listening ears,” Oba Akinyelure said.

Further endorsing the Governor, prominent community figure Remi Olatubora, SAN, promised strong electoral support, stating, “We want to assure you that the kind of margin that nobody has ever had, we will give to you in Irele.”

During his visit to Iyansan, Governor Aiyedatiwa was also honored with the chieftaincy title of the Jagunmolu of Iyansan by Oba Akinyomi Olasehinde, the Laaragunsin of Ode Iyansan, solidifying community support for his re-election bid.
