Authorities in Plateau State said on Tuesday they would relax a 48-hour curfew imposed on parts of Jos North Local Government Area after a recent violent attack, citing an improvement in the security situation.
The curfew, introduced after an assault on residents in the Angwan Rukuba area, will now be observed between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. starting April 1, the state government said in a statement.
Residents will be allowed to carry out their daily activities during the specified hours, while security agencies continue surveillance to maintain order.
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang said the decision followed “relative calm” in the affected communities, urging citizens to remain vigilant and law-abiding.
The government also thanked residents for their cooperation during the restrictions and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
