Tobi Amusan breaks 25 year old African record

1 Mins read

Former world champion Tobiloba Amusan is back on the track as she cruised to a new African record at the World Indoor Tour in Astana, Kazakhstan to start her year on a bright note.

Amusan, fondly called Tobex Express, finished with a personal best time of 7.77s in the 60m hurdles breaking Gloria Alozie’s African record of 7.82m set 25 years ago in Madrid.

She will hope to put the distraction and disappointment of 2023 behind and focus on challenging for medals in the world championship and Paris 2024 Olympics.
