Hope Builders for Physically Challenged Foundation spreads Christmas love among people with disabilities

1 Mins read

In the festive spirit of Christmas, the non-governmental organisation, Hope Builders for the Physically Challenged Foundation in Lagos, has undertaken a benevolent initiative by distributing essential food items to People Living With Disabilities across various parts of Lagos State.

Dr. (Mrs.) Christiana Kehinde Akinrinmade, the Founder of the organisation, expressed to the media the importance of ensuring that individuals with special needs experience the joy of Christmas. Speaking at the distribution venue in the Mushin area of Lagos State, Akinrinmade acknowledged the challenges of the past year, emphasising the resilience of the disabled community.

“If we acknowledge that Nigerians have faced a tough year, we must recognise that people living with disabilities have endured an even tougher year in 2023. This is why our organisation finds it crucial to share love and support. We’ve distributed food items, gifts, and provided valuable counseling to ensure our community has a joyful Christmas and holiday season,” she stated.

Akinrinmade urged governments at all levels to consistently include provisions for the inclusion of people with disabilities in their plans.

Motunrayo Miranda, a member of the Board of Trustees for Hope Builders for the Physically Challenged Foundation, expressed gratitude to Akinrinmade for organising the event amid economic challenges. “I thank Mrs. Akinrinmade for all she has been doing for people living with disabilities, for her strength, and commitment,” Miranda conveyed.

Encouraging the participants, Miranda emphasised the significance of taking their businesses seriously and embracing digital marketing. “Vocational training is a crucial aspect of our organisation. If you are engaged in a vocation and produce items, make them visible through digital marketing,” she advised, also urging small-scale entrepreneurs among the disabled community to manage their businesses diligently and prudently.
