1 Mins read

Emergency responders swiftly reacted to a distress call regarding a fire outbreak at Dosunmu Street, Lagos Island. Upon arrival, they encountered a dire situation where multiple buildings were engulfed by flames. The affected structures include two storey buildings, a nearby structure, and two three-storey buildings.

Investigations conducted at the scene revealed that the fire originated from a shop where machine oil was being sold. A generator being refueled in the vicinity caught fire, triggering the inferno. Tragically, the burning generator was hurled across the road, exacerbating the situation and leading to widespread damage, including the collapse of two buildings.

As of now, three individuals have sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment from agency paramedics. Emergency responders are actively engaged in combating the fire to prevent its spread to adjacent buildings.

The response team comprises the Shark team, LRU paramedics, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LASAMBUS officials, LNSC officials, CBD crew, and the Nigeria Police Force.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
