The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, has inaugurated a series of significant projects at the Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army, located at Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja. The newly commissioned facilities include a remodelled Quarter Guard, an ultra-modern lecture auditorium, accommodations for both officers and soldiers, and a newly refurbished horse stable.

In his remarks during the event, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya, Commander of the Guards Brigade, emphasized that the projects are aligned with the COAS’s command philosophy. Lieutenant General Lagbaja commended the leadership and dedication of the Brigade’s commander and his team. He noted, “The remodelled Quarter Guard, ultra-modern lecture auditorium, and the accommodation for the Quick Response Force are testaments to the commitment of the commander’s leadership quality, which would afford troops the opportunity to cool off while off duty so as to perform optimally when the need arises.”

The COAS also urged the brigade officers and troops to maintain the new facilities to ensure their longevity and effectiveness.

In his vote of thanks, the Brigade’s Chief of Staff, Colonel Abdulrahaman Bello, expressed gratitude to the COAS, saying, “These projects will go a long way in meeting the needs and purposes for which they were executed.”

The commissioning ceremony was attended by senior officers from Army Headquarters, Commanding Officers of various units under the Guards Brigade, staff officers, and troops under command.
