SWAN Taraba Hails Tinubu, Celebrates FMC Jalingo CMD’s Reappointment

Taraba State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, paid a congratulatory visit to the Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, over her reappointment as the CMD of the Hospital by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Receiving the Exco and some veteran Sports Writers in her office, the CMD, Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu commended SWAN for promoting sporting activities in the state.

She attributed the successes recorded at the hospital to what she described as teamwork with her management team and the partnership with other organizations, which she said had encouraged President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to renew her appointment.

The CMD also expressed delight that the FMC is sports-friendly, disclosing that she is sponsoring a football team named after her and that for the past two years, the team has engaged in several tournaments, adding that they are preparing for this year’s championship.

Doctor Aisha who appreciated the synergy between the FMC and SWAN, also urged the Association to give the hospital and her football and Table Tennis clubs the desired publicity.

Earlier, the chairman of SWAN Taraba State Chapter, Sani Sulaiman, congratulated the CMD for her reappointment, arguing that it was a result of her efforts in changing the narratives at the FMC and pledged the cooperation of the Association to the FMC.

Sani Sulaiman, who described the decision of the CMD to form a football and Table Tennis club as wonderful, observed that it will go a long way in engaging the talented youth that abound in the state to be self-reliant. He appealed to her to synergy with other hospitals, both public and private, to be result-oriented.

In their separate comments during the courtesy visit, two veteran sports writers, Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo and Ben Adaji, showered encomiums on the Chief Medical Director for her giant strides in the structural development and the upliftment of the welfare of the Manpower of the Medical Centre.

Sadiq Moyoyo and Ben Adaji, however, challenged her to do more so that the FMC in Jalingo would be a pace-setter among its contemporaries.
