Bayern Munich Manager Thomas Tuchel has joined the list of Coaches that have decided to leave their club sides at the end of the season.
The 50-year-old replaced Julian Nagelsmann in March 2023 on a deal until June 2025, and is supposed to help the German champions retain the title and also contend for a title in Europe.
But the former Chelsea boss will depart a year earlier than planned as part of “a sporting realignment” at Bayern.
He led Bayern to last season’s Bundesliga title but he’s currently struggling to keep up with in-form leaders Bayer Leverkusen who are eight points ahead.
Tuchel stated that “We will leave after this season. Until then, my coaching team and I will continue to do everything we can to ensure maximum success.”
Bayern have suffered back-to-back league defeats, and are also on the verge of elimination in Europe if they fail to beat Lazio in the return leg.
Barcelona manager Xavi and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp are the other managers that have confirmed leaving their role at the end of season.
