Democracy Day; President Tinubu Calls For Collective Action To Advance Nigeria

As Nigerians mark Democracy day today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for collective action to advance Nigeria noting that democracy and its institutions are key to reaching the country’s goals. 

He cautioned Nigerians not to slumber, as the opportunities for a brighter future are within their grasp. 

He said, “Let us board this progressive train together. Together, let us move Nigeria forward. Let’s continue to keep the fire of democracy burning”. 

“Let’s keep the torch lit for generations to come. May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and preserve our democracy. I wish us all Happy Democracy Day”.

 President Tinubu noted that Nigeria transitioned from military rule in 1999 to become Africa’s most populous democracy was a symbol of self-determination for the black race and one of the world’s largest democracies, saying that the pivotal change marks a significant moment in global history. 

“Today, 25 years later, we celebrate the silver anniversary of our journey in democracy. We have steadied the course” the President said.
