Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has announced a new N73,000 minimum wage for state workers, surpassing the federal government’s N70,000 directive. The Governor made this declaration during the APC gubernatorial campaign flag-off for the Ondo Central Senatorial District in Ondo City on Saturday, as part of his push for re-election ahead of the November 16 election.
“Our administration is committed to the welfare of our people, which is why we are going beyond the federal standard to implement a N73,000 minimum wage,” Aiyedatiwa stated to the large crowd of supporters.
He urged them to translate their support into votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure the continuation of developmental projects across the state. “On November 16, I urge everyone here to convert your support into votes for APC, so we can continue the significant progress we’ve made,” he added.

Reflecting on his achievements over the past 10 months, Governor Aiyedatiwa noted, “We’ve made major strides in agriculture, rural infrastructure, and the health sector. Our efforts have not only boosted food production but have also made Ondo a more attractive place for professionals, particularly doctors, who we’ve been able to retain through improved salaries and allowances.”

Engr. Ade Adetimehin, the State APC Chairman, echoed the Governor’s call for unity, urging party members to vote and safeguard their voter cards. “Governor Aiyedatiwa is committed to the development of Ondo, and it’s crucial that we all stand together to secure our victory at the polls,” Adetimehin said.

Mr. Abiola Makinde, the Director-General of the campaign, praised Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, saying, “The Governor emerged through a transparent primary process and has proven to be a reliable leader. Let’s mobilize our communities to ensure a strong turnout.”
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Lola Fagbemi, highlighted the Governor’s accomplishments, including timely salary payments, road rehabilitation, and funding for WAEC fees. Former APC governorship aspirant, Chief Olusola Oke, and Mr Kolade Akinjo also called on supporters to mobilize at the grassroots to secure votes for Governor Aiyedatiwa.
The APC senatorial campaign will continue on Monday in Ikare Akoko for the Ondo North Senatorial District.
