Nigeria suffers second defeat in Africa Men’s Handball Nations Cup

Nigeria suffered a second consecutive defeat on on day 2 of the Africa Men Handball Nations Cup in Egypt on Friday.

The Golden Arrows lost again 36-19 to Tunisia, following a close 26-24 lose to Angola in their opening match.

Coach Rafiu Salami tutored side couldn’t match the handballing prowess of the ten times Africa champion from the very start of match but did manage to claw back a bit as they lost the first half 18-10.

In the second half, status quo continued with the Tunisians scoring almost effortlessly and Nigeria struggling with turnovers and then losing the match as Tunisia scored the last goal through a seven meters penalty to make it 36-19.

Nigeria will play their last match of the group on Sunday against Kenya.
