Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has announced plans to procure vehicles and gadgets for security agencies in the state during a meeting with top security officials.
Governor Aiyedatiwa revealed the initiative aimed at enhancing the safety of lives and properties in the state following discussions with the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police, State Commander of Amotekun, and other security heads in Akure.
Emphasizing the importance of bolstering the state’s security architecture, Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing necessary tools and resources to support security agencies effectively.
He highlighted the procurement of vehicles as a key component of the strategy to overcome mobility challenges hampering efficient policing. “We will support our security agencies by providing tools for them, more importantly, more operational vehicles for them to be able to move around, enabling them to navigate diverse terrains and respond swiftly to security threats,” he stated.
In addition to addressing security concerns, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to alleviating economic hardships faced by citizens. Measures such as providing palliatives to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal and offering shuttle buses to civil servants and students demonstrate the government’s commitment to supporting the people.
Furthermore, Governor Aiyedatiwa presented official vehicles to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the legislative and executive arms of government. The gesture aims to enhance the legislative responsibilities of the Assembly members and foster closer ties between branches of government.
