Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State have pledged their full support for Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election. The three governors, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), joined party leaders in Akure on Sunday to mobilize stakeholders for the upcoming poll.
The meeting, held at The Dome in Akure, was also attended by APC National Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Southwest National Vice Chairman Hon. Isaack Kekemeke. Governor Sanwo-Olu, who moderated the event, urged party members to set aside any differences and unite for the task ahead.
“We are here to appreciate every party member. Whatever differences may have existed in the past, it’s time to set them aside and work together as one big family. Nobody will be left behind or taken for granted,” Sanwo-Olu stated. He added, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is aware of this gathering and keen on ensuring APC’s victory in the coming election. Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, emphasized the election’s importance, declaring, “The Ondo election is more important than my second-year celebration in office. APC must be returned to power to preserve the achievements of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.”
Party leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Lagos Governance Advisory Council member Prince Tajudeen Olusi, echoed the call for unity. APC National Chairman Ganduje stressed the importance of a decisive victory, saying, “This election is critical… I expect nothing less than 90% of the total votes. Victory in Ondo is non-negotiable.”
Former APC gubernatorial aspirant Chief Olusola Oke urged party members to focus on the future. “We are fully behind our candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa,” he remarked, while National Vice Chairman Kekemeke called for collective mobilization, stating, “Any internal disagreements should be laid to rest.”
Responding to the show of solidarity, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude, saying, “Our administration has laid the groundwork for sustainable development, and we cannot afford to let that progress slip away… With your unwavering support, we will deliver a resounding victory come November 16.”
With all key party members reaffirming their commitment to unity and victory, Ondo APC is gearing up for a tightly contested election that will determine the state’s political future.
