The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) troop deployed under Sector 3 in Borno State successfully thwarted a planned attack by Boko Haram terrorists along the Magumeri-Maiduguri axis. Acting on credible intelligence, the MNJTF troops staged a carefully coordinated ambush, neutralizing the terrorists before they could carry out their deadly mission.
The terrorists, traveling on motorcycles, attempted to flee but were met with heavy gunfire, forcing them to abandon their weapons and motorcycles. The operation led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, over 100 rounds of ammunition, and contraband such as marijuana and Tramadol. These items are believed to have been intended to sustain the terrorists’ operations and wreak havoc in the region.
