Nigeria triumphed over Ghana in the first two rubbers at the Group III Africa Qualifier event held at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, securing promotion to the Davis Cup World Group II.
The five-day event concluded on Saturday, with Nigerian players Christopher Bulus and Michael Emmanuel delivering decisive victories. Bulus clinched the first win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Ghana’s Abraham Asaba, followed by Emmanuel’s 6-3, 6-2 win over Isaac Nortey.

As a result of their performance, Nigeria earned promotion to World Group II. Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire will be relegated to Group IV, while Benin Republic will stay in Africa Group III.
Zimbabwe and Namibia also earned spots in World Group II after achieving impressive victories during the event.
