Report By Susan Omopeloye

Olajide Omotayo will compete in his second Olympic Games in Paris.

After being eliminated in the first round at Tokyo 2020, Omotayo is determined to prove himself. “Last time, I was emotional. This time, it’s business,” he said.

An elated Omotayo  said “Qualifying from Africa is tough. My ranking dropped, and I wasn’t sure I’d make Team Nigeria. But I reclaimed my spot and qualified in Rwanda.”

Having played in the French league for the past few years, he feels ready. “I’m used to the people there; they love table tennis. I’ll have French friends supporting me. My expectations are high—I’m going to give my best and fight for my name.”
