As part of his statewide campaign tour leading up to the November 16 gubernatorial election, Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa visited communities across Akoko South East Local Government Area on Thursday, promising to spread development projects throughout the region if re-elected.

Addressing enthusiastic crowds, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured residents that his administration is committed to inclusive governance and will ensure that “Akoko South East Local Government Area will feel the impact” of his second term.

During his visit to the palace of Oba Akinyele Akinsunloye Oyolola, the Olisua of Isua Akoko, the Governor emphasized his administration’s focus on security and infrastructure. “We recognize the importance of security, and that is why we have continued to equip our security outfits with operational vehicles, especially the Amotekun Corps, and we are working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safety of our people,” he said. He also promised to address local needs in road infrastructure and healthcare, stating, “The Isua road will receive attention soon, and we are committed to upgrading healthcare services.”

Expressing gratitude for Aiyedatiwa’s appointments of local indigenes, Oba Oyolola praised the Governor’s commitment to the community. “Your Excellency, we appreciate the progress your administration has made so far, especially in appointing sons and daughters of our council area into your administration. This gesture has given us a sense of belonging,” the monarch said.

At Ipe Akoko, Ipesi Akoko, and Ifira Akoko, the Governor urged supporters to translate their warm welcome into votes. “I am truly touched by the love and support I see here today. This crowd shows the faith you have in what we have achieved together. But I appeal to you, don’t let this love end with today’s welcome. On November 16, I need you to translate it into votes,” Aiyedatiwa said, adding, “This election is our opportunity to keep moving forward. Let’s consolidate our gains by voting to continue on this path of development.”

The Governor, while concluding his remark described the election as a “defining moment,” calling on the people of Akoko South East to “protect the progress we have started by standing with us at the polls.”
